Ten things the GCU Community can do for the Environment

  1. Don't leave the water running in the rest room, and if you note that a tap is dripping report it to someone and ask that they fill in a work order to get it fixed

  2. Avoid sitting in you car with the engine idling between classes

  3. Don't drop litter out of your car as you are driving

  4. Don't open the windows when the AC or heat are on in the classroom, office or dorm room

  5. Dress to suit the weather

  6. Don't put your recycling in the garbage bin, especially when there’s a recycling bin RIGHT next to it

  7. Avoid using bottled water

  8. Think before you print!

  9. Turn off lights and appliances when no one is in the room

  10. Carry a mug with you wherever you go for take out beverages.

With these 10 changes everyone at GCU could make a big difference to the world that we will pass on to our children.

Also: For those of you commuting every day to GCU, Tanya Dinova (Class of 2008) has prepared this fabulous pamphlet on how to reduce the global warming footprint of your daily commute, just by changing a few simple things about the way you drive.

And: Christine Lindquist (Class of 2009) created this poster that you can paste in your office or computer lab to remind people of the importance of turning off their desktop computers at the end of the day.
