8.  Avoid printing stuff you don't need that just ends up abandoned at the printer

Again, while recycling helps, avoiding wasteful behaviors is even better. Every day hundreds of pages of unclaimed print out are left uncollected at printers around campus.  GCU’s IT department encourages you to think before you print.  Do you really need a hard copy of that file or website?  Did you check to make sure how long that pdf document was before you hit the print button?  Could you print out your hard copy with more than one PowerPoint slide per page?  Similarly, when printing pdfs it is possible to print out a hard copy with 2 pages of text per page of printout.  These simple actions could help save trees, and prevent all the pollution associated with the processing of the paper we all use in our printers every day.
